Description

We’re seeking an experienced Material Engineer to join our team on a large-scale oil & gas project in Uzbekistan. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of material specification, procurement support, quality control, warehousing coordination, and on-site material integration with construction activities. This role requires close collaboration with procurement, engineering, QA/QC, and construction teams to ensure timely availability and proper handling of all project materials.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain material specifications in line with project and industry standards.
  • Support procurement activities by reviewing material requests, evaluating vendor documentation, and tracking deliveries.
  • Conduct quality control inspections of incoming materials and ensure compliance with relevant certifications and specifications.
  • Coordinate with warehousing teams for proper storage, preservation, and inventory tracking of materials.
  • Collaborate with construction and site teams to ensure material readiness, resolve discrepancies, and support efficient material flow.
  • Manage on-site material operations and enforce compliance with project HSE and material handling protocols.
  • Contribute to material cost tracking, forecasting, and waste reduction efforts across the project lifecycle.

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (engineering, science, materials, or related field preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in material management or materials engineering within oil & gas or petrochemical projects, with proven on‑site management experience.
  • Strong understanding of material specifications, procurement processes, quality assurance/control, warehousing and construction interface.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders (procurement, engineering, construction, QA/QC).
  • Excellent organizational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Russian or Uzbek language proficiency is a strong plus; full English fluency is not mandatory but advantageous.
